We had a very pleasant afternoon catching up with some old friends whom we had known in Illinois when we lived there from 1975 to 1977. We lost touch when we moved to California and they moved back to Halifax. But thanks to Facebook I reconnected with Heather a couple of years ago and she contacted me when she realized we would be overlapping briefly here in London. It was really good to see them and to exchange synopses of the past 39 years. We promised not to let another 39 years pass before meeting again, especially since we would be over 100 by then! I wish I had remembered to take a photo.

We then met up with our niece Brea at a nearby tapas bar. We had a good time, as we always do. We talked a little about November when we get to see her cousins/our daughters. I can't wait! Earlier in the day I was looking on airbnb for a place for them to stay while they're here, because our flat is quite tiny, and I found a great place that is in our building! Katie, Annie and Meg, if you're reading this, I need your exact dates ASAP so that I can book it before someone else does!

I'm off early tomorrow and won't be blogging as often for the next 2-3 weeks. Look for some photos from Italy soon! Ciao for now.
