I spent the day editing another chapter of the book, uploading and organizing photos so that I can delete them from my phone, communicating with someone about a book editing job, talking to Annie after a med school interview that brought her to New York from California for a whirlwind 24 hours, and some mundane tasks like balancing the checkbook and washing towels. None of it warrants a blog entry, but I'm determined to post one a day, at least until our visitors arrive in two weeks, at which point I may get behind again.

I had to get out of the house, so we walked to Islington for some Indian food at Masala Zone. The restaurant had items that aren't typically on Indian menus. I ordered the undhiyo and lentil khichdi that brought back memories of living in Gujarat.

It was raining when we left the restaurant and foolishly we had left our umbrellas at home. I'm learning that it doesn't matter if the forecast indicates no rain. An umbrella is a required accessory. We walked the mile home in record time.

Molly and I managed to complete two crosswords tonight. I took advantage of there being only a five-hour time difference between here and Minneapolis this week. It's back to six hours beginning this weekend, and that makes it difficult. By the time she's able to play, I'm falling asleep, if I'm even up.
